SPC is seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Environmental Field Technician to join our growing team in Rolling Meadows. This candidate will work closely with Project Managers to support environmental consulting projects by performing field investigations, environmental sampling, and documentation of site activities.

This position involves significant field work including site investigation and characterization activities such assoil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and air monitoring sampling, as well as contractor oversight and field documentation.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•      Provide field and limited office support on a variety of environmental projects

•      Perform field data collection and documentation related to site investigations

•      Assist with environmental sampling of soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, and air monitoring

•      Observe drilling operations and assist with installation of monitoring wells or soil borings

•      Conduct lithological logging and basic field measurements

•      Assist with soil manifesting and waste documentation

•      Provide oversight support for subcontractors including laboratories, excavation contractors, and drilling companies

•      Document field activities and maintain accurate field notes and records

•      Assist with preparation of technical reports, tables, spreadsheets, and project documentation for client and regulatory agency review

•      Follow all company safety policies and procedures during project execution

•      Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, anindividual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meetthe requirements below. Work conditions may consist of diverse indoor andoutdoor conditions, including but not limited to, extreme hot and coldtemperatures, elevated work areas, confined spaces, heavy lifting, and rigorousphysical activity.

EDUCATION AND/OREXPERIENCE:

·       Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent

·       Experience working in the environmental consulting or construction industry

·       OSHA 10 required

·       OSHA 30 or OSHA 40 preferred

·       Ability to pass a background check and OSHA physical

·       Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

·       Strong oral and technical writing skills

·       Work effectively and efficiently as both a team and independently

·       Comply with company policies and procedures during the execution of work

·       Clean driving and criminal record, pass annual medical physicals and random drug and alcohol testing
