In this position you would have the opportunity to work in our Environmental division where we provide a full range of environmental due diligence services for our clients, which include local and state government agencies, land developers, and lending institutions. Our scientists and engineers have performed environmental due diligence assessments at a variety of sites ranging from undeveloped properties to complex industrial facilities. We work closely with site management personnel, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and regulators to efficiently and effectively implement necessary environmental management measures allowing timely and informed financial decision-making associated with the scope and cost of managing site residuals, impacted media, and environmental consequences due to construction.

SPC is seeking a Waste Specialist / Environmental ProjectManager to manage client and vendor financial obligations, including invoicing,reporting, record keeping, and contract management, while coordinatinglogistics for the transportation of non-hazardous waste from client sites,including characterizing, profiling, scheduling, and manifesting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare paperwork and coordinate daily field service and transportation jobs
• Provide waste profiling, manifesting and management
• Track production, waste, and budget variances
• Read and interpret analytical data used to characterize waste streams
• Identify out-of-scope services, collaborating with the Department Director and client to quote projects and profile materials before providing service
• Supervise personnel necessary to fulfill contract requirements
• Ensure timely, high-quality client communication to maintain service standards and client satisfaction
• Perform daily client service responsibilities
• Work closely with clients and contractors, supplying them with transportation and disposal options
• Recommend potential services to management by collecting client information and analyzing client needs
• Routinely communicating status with clients and the Department Director
• Work cooperatively with operational groups

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering or related science field
• 5-10 years of experience in waste management, environmental services, or related field
• Current 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) wit Annual Refresher (preferred); training available upon hire
• Positive client relation skills
• Previous experience in the waste industry
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Solid reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Proven self-starter, highly motivated, sets aggressive goals
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mid-level Environmental Scientist / Geologist / Engineer with 3 - 5+ years of experience. Typical responsibilities include:

• Provide field and office support on a variety of environmental services including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental     remediation, and environmental compliance programs.
• Develop work plans, health and safety plans, field sampling plans, sampling and analysis plans
• Perform field data collection and documentation related to site investigations; observation of drilling operations; installation of water wells or soil borings, lithological logging; and various field tests and measurements of soil, air, surface water and/or groundwater properties.
• Provide oversight of investigation and remediation subcontractors including laboratories, excavation and drilling companies.
• Assist in the coordination and management of environmental projects, ensuring that tasks are executed according to the project timeline and meet client needs. Projects can range from small site assessments to large-scale environmental remediation efforts.
• Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring resource allocation is efficient and on target. Monitor timelines and ensure projects stay within scope, budget, and deadlines.
• Prepare soil boring logs, cross-sections, contour maps, well schematics, and site maps
• Draft comprehensive technical reports, including environmental assessments, audit findings, regulatory compliance reports, and recommendations for     mitigation or improvement.
• Ensure all project documents and environmental reports are properly archived and comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure that project files     are complete and can be easily accessed for future reference.

The primary focus of the position will be to oversee the work of personnel on project sites to ensure their safety and provide a safe working environment.

The Safety Inspector is responsible for conducting field inspections, monitoring compliance with safety regulations, and supporting the implementation of safety programs across active job sites. This role requires a strong working knowledge of occupational safety standards, the ability to identify hazards, and experience working in dynamic field environments. Experience with high voltage electrical safety and inspections is highly desirable.

Must be able to meet deadlines and contribute to a positive,safe, high-quality culture. This is a hands-on position with 70% of time spent in the field.
