SPC is seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Environmental Field Technician to join our growing team in Rolling Meadows. This candidate will work closely with Project Managers to support environmental consulting projects by performing field investigations, environmental sampling, and documentation of site activities.
This position involves significant field work including site investigation and characterization activities such assoil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and air monitoring sampling, as well as contractor oversight and field documentation.

In this position you would have the opportunity to work in our Environmental division where we provide a full range of environmental due diligence services for our clients, which include local and state government agencies, land developers, and lending institutions. Our scientists and engineers have performed environmental due diligence assessments at a variety of sites ranging from undeveloped properties to complex industrial facilities. Our valuable advantage to our clients combines the strengths of our in-house engineering and design capabilities with our construction and remediation expertise. We work closely with site management personnel, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and regulators to efficiently and effectively implement necessary environmental management measures allowing timely and informed financial decision-making associated with the scope and cost of managing site residuals, impacted media, and environmental consequences due to construction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mid-level Environmental Scientist / Geologist / Engineer with 3 - 5+ years of experience. Typical responsibilities include:

The primary focus of the position will be to oversee the work of personnel on project sites to ensure their safety and provide a safe working environment.
The Safety Inspector is responsible for conducting field inspections, monitoring compliance with safety regulations, and supporting the implementation of safety programs across active job sites. This role requires a strong working knowledge of occupational safety standards, the ability to identify hazards, and experience working in dynamic field environments. Experience with high voltage electrical safety and inspections is highly desirable.
Must be able to meet deadlines and contribute to a positive,safe, high-quality culture. This is a hands-on position with 70% of time spent in the field.
