SPC is seeking an experienced Restoration Architect or Engineer to serve as Department Leader and establish, lead, and grow our building restoration and rehabilitation practice. This senior leadership position will be responsible for technical oversight, project delivery, staff development, client relationships, and business development. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in building restoration and an established network of clients and industry relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and manage SPC's Restoration Engineering & Architecture Department, including strategic planning, staffing, technical quality, financial performance, growth, and day-to-day operations.

• Develop and expand SPC's capabilities in building restoration, rehabilitation, structural assessment, and building envelope consulting.

• Provide senior technical leadership for investigations, assessments, design, and restoration of existing buildings and structures.

• Oversee projects involving façades, masonry, concrete, roofing, windows, waterproofing, structural deterioration, water intrusion, and other building envelope systems.

• Review and approve technical reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, repair recommendations, and construction documents.

• Serve as Principal-in-Charge/Project Executive for major restoration and rehabilitation projects.

• Establish technical standards, quality-control procedures, and project delivery practices.

• Recruit, supervise, and mentor engineers, architects, project managers, and technical staff.

• Manage routine staff responsibilities, including workload, schedules, attendance, timesheet and expense approvals, and PTO requests.

• Manage departmental workload, project schedules, budgets, utilization, profitability, and resource allocation.

• Maintain active involvement in project and billable work while balancing department leadership and business development responsibilities.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

• Lead business development activities, including identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, preparing proposals, and participating in interviews and presentations.

• Collaborate with Marketing on qualifications, project experience, proposals, and other business development efforts.

• Work with SPC leadership to establish annual revenue, backlog, staffing, and growth objectives for the department.

• Collaborate with SPC's structural, architectural, environmental, industrial hygiene, and geotechnical professionals to pursue and deliver multidisciplinary projects.

• Represent SPC at industry organizations, associations, conferences, and client events.

• Keep the President/CEO and executive leadership informed of significant project risks and client concerns and collaborate on significant department and business decisions.

SPC isseeking a self-motivated Staff-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team in Hoffman Estates or Chicago office. The selected candidate will workclosely with Project Managers and senior engineers to support geotechnicalinvestigations and construction services that meet client objectives andproject priorities. Responsibilities include performing fieldwork and subsurfaceinvestigations and preparing accurate documentation of field activities, logs,and reports.

We are currently seeking a Field Inspector to join our growing Chicago, IL office. This is a hands-on position with 90% of time spent in the field, where you will be conducting field inspections for hazardous materials and provide oversight during remediation activities. All field activities will be conducted in accordance with the EPA, OSHA, IDPH regulations and Project Specifications. Prepare detailed inspection/oversight report including description of sampling methods, results, picture log of sampled materials, and drawings of sampling locations. Document field activities and communicate issues with Project Managers, Clients, and Laboratories. Conduct project activities within assigned budget and timeframe assigned by Project Manager.

2.     Review building as-built drawings and understand structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems to strategize ACM/LBP/Hazmat survey activities.

3.     Collect bulk samples of suspected asbestos containing materials, lead based paint coatings,other dust, gases, vapors, or other potentially toxic materials for laboratory analysis.

4.     Collect air samples of asbestos, lead, mold spores, nuisance dust, and other air contaminants as per the OSHA and NIOSH sampling methods.

5.     Collect clearance lead dust wipes per HUD and IDPH protocols.

6.     Conduct visual inspection, document observations, quantify suspect materials.

7.     Conduct non-destructive LBP survey using XRF equipment.

8.     Calibrate and use IH equipment in indoor and outdoor locations.

9.  Prepare inspection/remediation reports for asbestos and lead projects. Develop picturelog of sampled materials, Prepare drawings of sampling locations.

10.  Interpret sampling results and communicate with project team.

Our scientists and engineers have performed environmental due diligence assessments at a variety of sites ranging from undeveloped properties to complex industrial facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mid-level Environmental Scientist / Geologist / Engineer with 3 - 5+ years of experience. Typical responsibilities include:

• Provide field and office support on a variety of environmental services including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental     remediation, and environmental compliance programs.
• Develop work plans, health and safety plans, field sampling plans, sampling and analysis plans
• Perform field data collection and documentation related to site investigations; observation of drilling operations; installation of water wells or soil borings, lithological logging; and various field tests and measurements of soil, air, surface water and/or groundwater properties.
• Provide oversight of investigation and remediation subcontractors including laboratories, excavation and drilling companies.
• Assist in the coordination and management of environmental projects, ensuring that tasks are executed according to the project timeline and meet client needs. Projects can range from small site assessments to large-scale environmental remediation efforts.
• Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring resource allocation is efficient and on target. Monitor timelines and ensure projects stay within scope, budget, and deadlines.
• Prepare soil boring logs, cross-sections, contour maps, well schematics, and site maps
• Draft comprehensive technical reports, including environmental assessments, audit findings, regulatory compliance reports, and recommendations for     mitigation or improvement.

The primary focus of the position will be to oversee the work of personnel on project sites to ensure their safety and provide a safe working environment.

The Safety Inspector is responsible for conducting field inspections, monitoring compliance with safety regulations, and supporting the implementation of safety programs across active job sites. This role requires a strong working knowledge of occupational safety standards, the ability to identify hazards, and experience working in dynamic field environments. Experience with high voltage electrical safety and inspections is highly desirable.

Must be able to meet deadlines and contribute to a positive,safe, high-quality culture. This is a hands-on position with 70% of time spent in the field.
