SPC isseeking a self-motivated Staff-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team in Hoffman Estates or Chicago office. The selected candidate will workclosely with Project Managers and senior engineers to support geotechnicalinvestigations and construction services that meet client objectives andproject priorities. Responsibilities include performing fieldwork and subsurfaceinvestigations and preparing accurate documentation of field activities, logs,and reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist withsubsurface investigations, including boring logs, test pits, sample collection,field testing
· Preparedrilling logs, field reports, and chain-of-custody documentation
· Help preparegeotechnical reports, technical memorandums, and project documentation
· Maintainaccurate field records, logs, and daily reports
· Communicate field observations and updates to project managers
· Support coordination with contractors, clients, and internal teams
· Assist with laboratory testing coordination and data review
• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with geotechnical coursework
· EIT certification (or ability to obtain one)
· 0-3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Solid reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Proven self-starter, highly motivated, sets aggressive goals
• Ability to manage multiplepriorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail andcommitment to accuracy
· Occasional Travel required
