The primary focus of the position will be to oversee the work of personnel on project sites to ensure their safety and provide a safe working environment.

The Safety Inspector is responsible for conducting field inspections, monitoring compliance with safety regulations, and supporting the implementation of safety programs across active job sites. This role requires a strong working knowledge of occupational safety standards, the ability to identify hazards, and experience working in dynamic field environments. Experience with high voltage electrical safety and inspections is highly desirable.

Must be able to meet deadlines and contribute to a positive,safe, high-quality culture. This is a hands-on position with 70% of time spent in the field.

Requirements:

1. Monitor field activities to verify the work is being performed in compliance with approved safety plan, client policies and industry best practices.

2. Engage personnel to address possible safety concerns.

3. Communicate with Project Management regarding compliance and safety issues.

4. Participate in and help conduct training, new hire orientation and safety meetings.

5. Report and assist with investigation of any safety incidents

6. Recognize good working practices for projects and report back to Project Managers

7. Assist with development and review of activity hazard analysis and HASPS

8. Serve as a safety resource to project personnel

9. Assist Safety Manager on duties as needed

10. Strong work ethic: willing to do what it takes to get the job done

11. The ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.

12. Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments

13. Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies and provide viable solutions or options

Education and/or Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Safety or closely related field

· 3-5 years safety experience

· Diverse experience including construction, rail,transportation, electrical

· Knowledgeable in current State and Federal OSHArequirements

· OSHA certifications preferred

· Effective written and verbal communication skills

· Experience with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Strong organization/time management skills

Salary Description:

$55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
