This is a hybrid position with 50% of time spent in the field, where you conduct field inspections for hazardous materials and provide oversight during remediation activities. All field activities will be conducted in accordance with the EPA,OSHA, IDPH regulations and Project Specifications. Prepare detailed inspection/oversight report including description of sampling methods, results, picture log of sampled materials, and drawings of sampling locations. Document field activities and communicate issues with Project Managers, Clients, and Laboratories.
In addition, as a project manager you will also be tasked to managing day-to-day IH project tasks, which include development of project scopes of work and associated cost estimates; ensuring that each project is performed according to established objectives, standards, policies, and procedures; and implementing projects in conformance with the approved scope of work and budget
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Understand project requirements, estimate resources needed for the completion of project.
· Assign tasksto field managers, Prepare Schedule of field activities. Train and guide field managers and technicians for specific project requirements.
· Oversee preparation of the reports/drawings and Conduct review of project documents.
· Discuss technical issues with Director, Management, Client, Customers, and Laboratories.
· Attend project meetings and conduct presentation to the project team.
· Develop cost/time estimate for project activities and present to client/customers.
· Conduct audits at hazardous waste sites or industrial sites or participate in hazardouswaste site investigations.
· Develop ormaintain industrial hygiene / safety programs, such as noise surveys,continuous atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, or asbestos/lead management plans.
· Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliancewith safety standards and government regulations.
· Investigate the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, or other conditionsthat could affect employee health, comfort, or performance.
· Maintain or update emergency response plans or procedures.
· Conduct Asbestos, LBP, and other hazardous materials survey/remediation oversight according to the project requirements as well as EPA, OSHA, and IDPH regulations and guidelines.
· Review building as-built drawings and understand structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems to strategize ACM/LBP/Hazmat survey activities.
· Collect bulk samples of suspected asbestos containing materials, lead based paint coatings, other dust, gases, vapors, or other potentially toxic materials for laboratory analysis.
· Collect air samples of asbestos, lead, mold spores, nuisance dust, and other air contaminants as per the OSHA and NIOSH sampling methods.
· Collect clearance lead dust wipes per HUD and IDPH protocols.
· Conduct visual inspection, document observations, quantify suspect materials.
· Conduct non-destructive LBP survey using XRF equipment.
· Calibrate and use IH equipment in indoor and outdoor locations.
· Prepare inspection/remediation reports for asbestos and lead projects. Develop picture log of sampled materials, prepare drawings of sampling locations.
· Interpret sampling results and communicate with project team.
· Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
· 5-10 years related experience
· Asbestos/Lead inspector and project manager licenses issued by IDPH
· Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills with colleagues, managers, regulators, and clients;
· Effective project leadership skills and coordination of project teams;
· Strong schedule and budget management skills, and technical writing skills;
