Assessment, Repair and Rehabilitation of Masonry Facades of the District 4 Maintenance Facilities

Prepared investigative reports to document existing conditions utilizing exploratory façade openings, provide recommendations, and include cost impacts. The scope also included the repair of cracks of varying sizes and locations throughout the exterior elevations across three buildings. SPC completed repair design construction / bid documents for the repair of facades of facility buildings. Provide bidding assistance, construction administration, construction progress reports, oversee contractor payment reviews, closeout and conduct final walk through in near future.

Recommendations

Repair lintels through removal of corrosionor complete replacement, dependent on level of section loss. Cleaning ofefflorescence that is present, painting of exposed steel, spot tuckpointing ofmortar joints, and installation of new sealant with backer rods at expansionjoints.  Replacement of severely damagedCMU units of parapet, application of sealer, and extend expansion jointsthrough parapets.

The project was successfully completed withall objectives achieved, on schedule and within budget, with no significantchallenges encountered during execution.
