Built in the 1960’s this landmark Marina City Complex includes twin 60-story, flora-form shaped, concrete framed hi-rise towers, a 16-story hotel, and a 40,000 sq. ft street level plaza. The plaza level incorporates restaurants, a club, and driveways with access to the parking ramps located at the lower level of the twin towers.
SPC conducted a thorough physical investigation of the existing plaza structure to determine the extent of water leakage and deterioration of the plaza waterproofing system and concrete topping. A long-term repair program was developed to include recommendations, priorities, and construction costs estimates. The second phase of the project included preparation of construction documents for complete rehabilitation of the plaza.
